As Regional General Manager for Microsoft Gulf, Sayed is responsible for overseeing the company’s operations across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the UAE, in addition to driving strategic planning and shaping growth initiatives that enable digital transformation across sectors in the region.
Sayed is an ardent believer in the power of technology to serve citizens, businesses and communities around the world through transforming education, fostering local innovation and creating employment opportunities, that help fuel a continuous cycle of sustained social and economic development. His leadership reflects these values and his deep personal commitment to the region’s governments, citizens and customer and partner satisfaction.
Prior to this role, Sayed was General Manager for Microsoft’s Public Sector in Middle East and Africa. During his tenure, he led a diverse team of Microsoft employees based in 79 countries covering government, education, healthcare, public safety and national security sectors.
He joined Microsoft in 1998 and has spent over 10 years in Dubai holding key positions in the region; driving forward the company’s mission to empower individuals and organizations to achieve more. A strong advocate for digital transformation in education, Sayed firmly believes that all industry sectors in the Gulf can benefit from Microsoft’s holistic security platform and technologies such as cloud computing, Big data, artificial intelligence, mobile enterprise apps and Internet of things.
Sayed is a multiple winner of the Microsoft Circle of Excellence award for outstanding accomplishments that contributed to the success and growth of the company, and is also an active member of several non-profit organizations committed to the professional development of Arab IT specialists and institutions to create an Arab Knowledge Community.
Sayed has held different Technical, Sales and Managerial roles in with companies such as IBM and NCR and finally Microsoft Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the American University in Cairo. Sayed is married and has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys horseback riding, deep sea fishing and spending time with his family.
