Ian Todd

    Sector Director – Built Environment & Infrastructure

    Ian is responsible for the delivery of a full suite of safety and security consultancy services,to a range of industries within the built environment and infrastructure sector, and additionally, operations services to airports, through a large team of highly experienced professionals. Ian joined the company in 2008, initially as UK Operations Director, before moving to Dubai, where as Programme Director, he led the company’s provision of technical and physical security support to one of the world’s largest International Oil Companies on 2 major oil and gas projects in Iraq. Since joining the company, he has led work on a number of airport sector consultancy and design projects, hotels and leisure projects, and work within the rail and metro sector, in both the UK and the Middle East Region, as well as the delivery of aviation security at Afghanistan’s four international airports.

    Ian joined directly from Heathrow Airport, where as Deputy Head of Security he was responsible for the delivery of aviation security at the world’s busiest international airport. Prior to joining the commercial sector, Ian served for 21 years as a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment, in a wide variety of staff and operational appointments, specialising in the delivery of security to the airbases of the UK Royal Air Force. In his final appointment, he commanded the Royal Air Force Regiment’s Rapier Ground Based Air Defence Wing.

    Ian holds a Masters Degree in Defence Studies from Kings College London and was trained in Security Risk Management at Cranfield University.
