Ayman joined the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in November 2016 to head the MENA region and the Center for Transport Excellence. He is responsible for the development and implementation of UITP’s service and research program in the region. Prior to joining UITP, Ayman acted as the Executive Director of Transport and Traffic Management at the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM). He was directly responsible for the development and implementation of transportation policy and programs in Amman; a growing city of 4.5 million people, including implementation of the Amman BRT, traffic safety, parking management, and intelligent transport systems. He worked as liaison with international organizations and donors, including the World Bank, AFD, EBRD and the C40 program. Ayman holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Iowa State University (USA); an M.S. in Civil Engineering – Transportation Systems from the University of Oklahoma (USA); and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Jordan. He was selected in 2008 as a Fulbright Scholar.
